Celebrating Earth Day in Paradise

Today is Earth Day, a day when governments, communities, organisations and individuals across 193 countries run events in support of the protection of our environment and planet. Here at Paradise Beach Nevis, this is a cause we really care about and so we want to show you some of the things we're doing to protect Paradise.

With all the beautiful sunshine we get, it would be madness not to use our sun's energy. Solar panels across the resort ensure you're able to get all the hot water you need, when you need, without wasting electricity and precious resources.

On the resort, we recycle water where we can to minimise effects on the environment. The pumps in our swimming pools use up just one-third of the electricity of normal pumps and the villas' thatched roofs are made from recycled materials which means they are easier to clean and save water too!

You'll notice all inside areas are fitted with air conditioning units to ensure you get some respite from the heat outside. AirCon normally uses up huge amounts of electricity but our units have a top rating for environmental impact.

Finally, our luxury villas now all have LED lighting which means the power we were using in a day is now lasting us a full month.
