The Nevis to St Kitts open water swim

News

For travelers looking for a “bucket list” style adventure in 2016, the Nevis to St Kitts open water swim could be just the thing. The annual event, which takes place on Sunday, 27th March 2016, offers a chance to swim across the ‘narrows’ between the two sister islands and the ocean bottom can be seen throughout the 2.5 mile (4.1km) swim.

Starting at Oualie Beach on Nevis and finishing at the Reggae Beach Bar, Cockleshell Bay, St. Kitts, the swim sees competitors take on the best open water swimmers in the world with the potential to break the record and earn a cash prize. All participants will receive T-shirts and finishing medals, and can enjoy the breakfast party at the finishing line. The current record for the swim is 58.09, set by Olivier Marceau in 2011. Entry costs $75 before 1 January.
