Why Princess Diana loved Nevis

Today marks twenty years since the much-loved Princess Diana died in a tragic car accident in Paris. She was adored globally and celebrated for her charity work towards a range of causes including HIV/AIDS, cancer, disabilities, and homelessness.



Five years before her death, in 1992, Princess Diana visited Nevis with her two sons William and Harry. She loved Nevis because of its remoteness and seclusion. The island provided the respite from her highly public life away from media interest and scrutiny.

We take the opportunity today to think of the Princess, the time she spent here in Nevis and her achievements in this world. She will forever be in the hearts of the people of Nevis.
